I think I shall skip it and go with what I already have. Quote.Photoflow is described as "a fully non-destructive photo retouching program" with raw conversion tacked on. Even then a bit flakey, best have Gimp open, then open Rawtharapee, choose the image, then send to 'editor'.Īny advantage over UFraw? You will get the image into Gimp as 16 bit. The best you will get is the same as UFraw/nufraw standalone and set the path to the Gimp appimage in the Rawtherapee preferences as 'path to external editor'. Try installing the Rawtherapee debian package. You are not going to get the Gimp appimage to call-up the RawTherapee appimage. Can this be achieved by doing something in ~/.config/GIMP-Appimage/2.10/plug-ins? Quote:Each of these runs, but I'd like RT to start when a raw file is opened by GIMP.

then close Photoflow, a bit of a delay while it thinks, and the image opens in Gimp, as 32 bit fp. YAOBT (yet another obnoxious black theme) Tried in a 'buntu VM and the installation is quite sizable, pulls in 17 dependencies so more than a few MB'sįile -> Open a raw in Gimp and it finds Photoflow which opens. I think you are using Mint so there is a version here: Photoflow is probably the closest to nufraw, if you can find a package for your version of linux. I store them no where near the system files or my home partition. I have lots of appimages for all sorts of things. So that is one solution, keep your old appimage for when needed. I keep my old homemade appimage around for nufraw and gutenprint because it works. The appimage will support Carmelo's own application Photoflow (I dislike that as much as Darktable) You could try that or one of the other two. The Gimp developers cannot see much past Rawtherapee and Darktable.

Just been checking it out and I do not think you will get nufaw working in that. PFI files with GIMP, in case you need to do so.Is this the appimage from aferrero2707 GIMP_AppImage-release-2.10.8-withplugins-x86_64.AppImage ? The PhF plug-in also allows to directly open. You can also pass a file name as parameter to the GIMP AppImage, just like with the standard GIMP. The second line starts GIMP from the AppImage. The first line with the environment variable assignment is used to tell GIMP where to look for the PhotoFlow executable.

Of course you need to replace the paths of the photoflow and gimp AppImages with their actual paths and full names on your system. In order to start the GIMP AppImage and let it find and use PhotoFlow for opening the RAW files and/or run as a filter on the existing layer data, open a terminal and type the following:Įxport PHOTOFLOW_PATH=$HOME/Applications/photoflow.AppImage In the following I will assume that the AppImages have been downloaded into the $HOME/Applications folder, but any other folder on your filesystem is equally good. The latest GIMP and PhotoFlow AppImages can be downloaded respectively from here and here (you need to grab the most recent version).

In this follow-up, I will show how to run GIMP and the PhF plug-in under Linux using the AppImage packages. Yesterday I have briefly described the new PhotoFlow GIMP plug-in.
